About Mike...

I’ve always been intrigued by how effectively a creative medium can express and communicate a message. My interests have consistently been artistic related and in the past, I’ve dabbled in many things such as music, writing, photography and web design. However, the one interest that stuck with me was video. There's something about it that was so much more impressionistic and engaging than anything else I'd tried or experienced. After studying for a degree in Film, Video & Interactive Arts, I learnt the intricacies of video production, from lighting, sound, camera operation and editing to creative development and online video advertising strategies. I acquired an appreciation for video and it's ability to persuade, entertain and inform.
With the increasing influence of the Internet and it's many ways in which it connects people through video, social media and interactivity, I strive to create distinctive, innovative and dynamic videos for businesses, organisations, artists, and individuals both on the web and offline.

What type of videos do I work on?

I've worked on everything from corporate videos for businesses and event videography to music videos, short films, documentaries and wedding videos. I'm happy to work on small, short-term projects as well as bigger, long-term projects with other creatives. I can work with you at any stage of your project from conceptualisation, and pre-production, through to the shoot and the edit. I can output your video to your chosen video format such as to DVD or the web. I can take care of the entire production process and call upon my industry contacts of other filmmakers, designers etc, if the size of your project warrants it. Whether you have something clear-cut and specific in mind or you have a few vague ideas and not sure how to proceed, I can help you juggle different concepts and work with you to develop and execute exactly what you need.

I'm super flexible and I'm happy to work with anyone and everyone, anywhere in the world.

What equipment do I use?

I have all my own equipment: high definition camera, tripod, lighting and sound equipment. I'm familiar with HDV, XDCAM and Canon DSLR formats. I have my own editing setup, computer and software. I use Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop CS5.

Anything else?

I have a full UK driving license, and my own vehicle. As a freelancer, I have full public liability insurance cover.
